Hi, I’m Kelsey!

So much of what I share is about my time as an athlete and my concussion(s), but that’s really just a small glimpse of who I am! So here, I will give you a glimpse of the deeper stuff!

Why Work With Me?

Boost confidence. Build a strong identity. Improve team culture.

As a recent college graduate, I feel that I offer a unique perspective. While my work is inspired by my personal experience, I am intentional in personalizing each of my talks to meet the unique needs of my audiences and their organizations.

We all have something that we feel externally defined by. Titles we aspire towards. Goals we strive to achieve. Work we pour ourselves into. While celebrating performance is important, I believe qualities, rather than labels, define who we are. This perspective on identity simply reminds us how to build our identities, and appreciate others, based on the qualities that truly matter.

The experiences I share are recent, yet just enough removed. While my story may be different from yours, I believe different human stories can share universal feelings. My loss of identity, turned to rebuilding of confidence, is something that can relate to any human story - I hope we can connect.

FAITH

My faith is the center of my identity. It is where I find and draw my strength, my joy, and my purpose. I hope to reflect the light of Jesus in what I share and the person I try to be.

FAMILY

My close relationship with my family has shaped so much of who I am. They are my biggest supporters and greatest blessing! Here’s one of my favorite pictures featuring some, but not all.

SERVICE

I have always been committed to making service a large part of my life. I believe it is important to see beyond myself and impact the lives of others in a meaningful way. I’ve included a page dedicated to causes that I care about and have personal connection to. I also speak to nonprofits and small schools for discounted rates.

ATHLETICS

I started playing softball when I was just 7 years old and my dream of playing college softball started early! As I grew up, I was fortunate enough to travel all over the country to play softball for, and against, the best. After being recruited to play at NC State, I continued to play softball in college until my injury in October 2021.

GOALS

I am dedicated to advocating for mental-health resources for student-athletes. I am an advocate for sports social work and plan to continue education in social work and mental performance counseling in the near future. I also intend to continue speaking, of course!
